Reviews

"I've never met an individual more passionate about the New York Mets and more caring towards its players. Jay was always one of the first high fives after big wins and the first words of encouragement after tough losses." —SEVEN-TIME ALL-STAR DAVID WRIGHT

"Jay was always there for me and he was there for all of the guys. We considered him one of us… He is one of my closest friends and there isn't anything I wouldn't do for him and I know he would do the same for me." —FOUR-TIME ALL-STAR JOHN FRANCO

"Mr. Met gives fans an inside look into Jay's 40-year career with the New York Mets. I have personally heard Jay's stories time and time again, and truthfully, they never get old. Readers will gain a unique perspective on how Jay dealt with players behind the scenes, how the organization helped the city heal in the aftermath of 9/11, and much more." —NEW YORK METS COO JEFF WILPON

"Jay Horwitz is a New York treasure. He has been part of the fabric of New York sports for parts of five decades. In this book, Mr. Met takes us down memory lane, and we smile and laugh during every step of the journey. Jay's entertaining stories are real and often hysterical—and no doubt a part of Mets' lore. Jay's life in baseball has been mystical, mythical, and magical and this book confirms it. What a fun read." —WNBC-TV NEW YORK LEAD SPORTS ANCHOR BRUCE BECK

"As a young manager, I was fortunate to witness all the benefits that stemmed from Jay's unique ability to build the trust necessary in a clubhouse. With excellence, dedication, and humor, Jay has made it a way of life to shine a light on the great stories of the Mets and our national pastime." —HALL OF FAMER JOE TORRE
