Being Irish is something to be proud of. From listening to U2 to hoisting a pint of Guinness on St. Patrick’s Day, a brand-new book explores the Irish heritage in a fresh and humorous way through a fun-filled A to Z journey.
For the Love of Being Irish by Connor Cunneen with illustrations by Mark Anderson offers at least 26 reasons to love being Irish. Each letter of the alphabet – “B is for Blarney and D is for Dublin …” – is the basis for a short rhyme and accompanied by a detailed, four-color illustration.
Ireland may be a relatively small country, but Irish traditions have been adopted and ultimately blended into other cultures all over the world. Millions of people not living in Ireland consider themselves Irish and For the Love of Being Irish celebrates what being Irish is all about regardless of where you live.
Chocked full of interesting facts about everything from kissing the Blarney Stone to details about the Great Famine (An Gorta Mor), this memorable tribute to everything Irish will keep readers intrigued from beginning to end. While it’s not possible to pack every bit of Irish culture into 48 pages, For the Love of Being Irish gives an overview of some of the key things that make being Irish so special.
