In November 2012, Notre Dame football was ranked No. 1 in the nation in both the AP and Coaches' polls after an undefeated regular season leading to the team's first BCS National Championship Game, which they lost to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Chronicling the Fighting Irish's return to the limelight, Faith Restored: 2012 and the Resurgence of Notre Dame Football (Triumph Books, September 2012) by Notre Dame athletic department veteran and experienced sports writer John Heisler-with a foreword and commentary by head football coach Brian Kelly-gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the evolving football program and it's remarkable 2012 season.
Providing unprecedented access to coaches and staff and transporting readers to the locker room, practices and game day sidelines, Faith Restored presents memorable moments from the beginning of the Kelly era. With a solid defense led by All American Manti Te'o and a growing offensive unit, the hard work the Irish put in during practice finally paid off and college football fans are taking notice.
Covering highlights such as the Navy game in Dublin, Ireland, and detailed descriptions of each of the wins in the team's 12-0 season including the overtime victory against Stanford and beating rival USC, Faith Restored is a must-have keepsake for Notre Dame students, alumni and college football fans looking forward to the next season in Fighting Irish football.
